Add credentials to scan devices in the network

This view is only available as a step of Scan Network and Scan Active Directory methods.

Before start

The credentials view is divided into two parts:

  • Part 1 is to add Local Credentials, these are the credentials of the operative system of the remote device, we will use these credentials to access the device and get the basic information.

  • Part 2 is to add Intel® AMT credentials, these are the credentials of the Intel® Active Management Technology, we will use these credentials to get all the Intel® AMT information.In this part, we have a restriction of three Intel® AMT credentials because when we use more than 3 incorrect credentials the Intel® AMT Chip stops listen to us for a period of time.

Both parts are equal, works in the same way, and have the same components:

  • On the left, a card to put the user and password.

  • Between the cards, a button to save the credential entered in the left card.

  • On the right, a card to see all the saved credentials and remove them when it is necessary.

Add Credentials

1. At the right card, fill out the User and Password fields with the user and password of the credential that you want to add.

Use Domain/User in the User field if the credential is a domain credential; otherwise, the credential will be used as a local credential.

Note: You can click over the eye inside the Password field to see the password.

2. Press the add button that is between the cards to save the credential.

3. Repeat steps one and two with Local and AMT credentials until you have added all the credentials of the devices that you are going to scan, then press the button "Start" that is at the end of the view.

If you want to remove a credential, you can do it pressing the button "Remove" that is on the right side of the credential you want to remove.

After press the "Start" button, Boardgent Network Scanner will start the respective scan.

Considerations

  • We save the credentials in the encrypted database to reuse them the next time you start a scan. You can remove the credentials at any moment when you are in this step of the scan process.

  • If Boardgent Network Scanner is running on a server with windows and the remote device is Windows, Boardgent Network Scanner will use Kerberos as the first option to try to connect to the device.

  • If you are going to scan devices with Scan Active Directory method, the credential used to log in to your Active Directory will be used before Kerberos and after all credentials added in this step.
